Diddy, also known as Sean Combs, the influential rapper and entrepreneur, has submitted a response to accusations of sexual assault against him and two others at a recording studio in 2003.
According to a report from Rolling Stone, new paperwork was submitted on Tuesday which refuted the claims made by an unnamed plaintiff who is suing Combs. The documents also requested for the lawsuit to be thrown out. It was stated in the paperwork that Combs has never been involved in, witnessed, or had any knowledge of any misconduct, including sexual misconduct, involving the plaintiff. Combs has previously denied multiple sexual assault accusations and has stated on X that he will defend his reputation, his family, and the truth.
Harve Pierre, the co-defendant and president of Combs’ record label Bad Boy Records, has submitted his own reply to the lawsuit denying any involvement or witness to the alleged sexual assault of the plaintiff.
The woman claims that Pierre coerced her into performing oral sex, and then he and Combs gave her drugs and alcohol until she was unable to give consent. She alleges that once they arrived at the New York studio, Combs sexually assaulted her in a bathroom, and a third man whose identity is unknown also participated.
According to the newly submitted documents by Combs, there is a photo that supposedly depicts the anonymous plaintiff sitting on Combs’ lap. However, Combs disputes the validity and accuracy of the photo’s context and claims that the incident occurred two decades ago, potentially compromising the availability of evidence. The case against Combs is being pursued under the Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Law, which permits cases to be filed beyond the typical statute of limitations. The new documents argue that this New York state law violates Combs’ constitutional rights.
In late 2023, Combs faced his fourth round of accusations. However, one of the cases, filed by his ex-girlfriend and singer Casandra Ventura (also known as Cassie), was resolved the following day.
Two additional cases were brought forward under the Adult Survivors Act, which permits legal action to be taken beyond the designated time period. One of the plaintiffs, Joi Dickerson-Neal, stated that Combs drugged and sexually assaulted her in 1991, and then proceeded to distribute a video of the assault as a form of “revenge porn.” Another victim, who remains anonymous, claimed that Combs and singer Aaron Hall raped her and a friend at Hall’s apartment in either 1990 or 1991. Currently, no resolution or ruling has been reached in these incidents.
Combs released a statement in response to the fourth accusation, stating: “I have remained quiet while people attempt to tarnish my character, ruin my reputation, and undermine my legacy. These disturbing claims have been made against me by individuals seeking financial gain.”
