Marcus Rashford has urged a Manchester United fan channel to cease spreading false rumors about his future.
On Monday, a video was released by The United Stand, a well-known fan channel, titled “Is Rashford’s future uncertain?” In the video, one person expressed concerns about his loyalty to the team.
Rashford did not participate in United’s 1-0 victory against Fulham on Saturday. According to Erik ten Hag, the England striker had sustained an injury and consequently failed a fitness assessment on the day of the match.
“Rashford posted a message on X, formerly known as Twitter, urging people to stop spreading false rumors in response to the video.”
Last season, Rashford scored a total of 30 goals. However, his performance has declined this season due to Manchester United’s struggles. The 26-year-old has only scored one goal in 14 games across all competitions. He faced criticism from Ten Hag for hosting a birthday party at a nightclub after the team’s 3-0 loss to Manchester City on October 29th at Old Trafford.
Ten Hag expressed his disapproval of the night out after the derby, but Rashford still played in the Carabao Cup match against Newcastle three days later. He came on as a substitute in the 65th minute, but United suffered another 3-0 loss at home. The team’s next game is on Wednesday against Copenhagen in the Champions League.
