A remark from the US Secretary of Defense, Lloyd Austin.

Today, the armed forces of the USA and UK, with assistance from Australia, Bahrain, Canada, Denmark, the Netherlands, and New Zealand, carried out attacks on military sites in regions of Yemen controlled by the Houthi group. The coalition targeted eight locations, including underground weapons and missile storage facilities, unmanned aerial systems for one-way attacks, air defense systems, radars, and a helicopter. This was done to further disrupt and weaken the capabilities of the Houthis, who are supported by Iran, and to prevent their destabilizing and dangerous assaults on US and international ships that are legally traveling through the Red Sea, Bab AI-Mandeb Strait, and Gulf of Aden.

The US will not hesitate to act in order to protect lives and maintain the smooth flow of trade in one of the world’s most vital waterways. We will consistently remind the Houthis that there will be repercussions if they continue their unlawful attacks, which negatively impact economies in the Middle East, harm the environment, and hinder the delivery of aid to Yemen and other nations.

In the past, Australia’s support for the strikes was in the form of non-operational defense personnel.

Although the government has not specified the exact tasks of the personnel, it is believed that they may be involved in monitoring information and offering expert analysis and advice.

The education Minister, Jason Clare, released the final report on Sunday outlining a blueprint for the future of universities. The report, titled “Universities Accord”, discusses the significant increase in university funding and operations that will take place in the coming decades.

The investigation for the remains of TV presenter Jesse Baird and his significant other Luke Davies is ongoing. On Wednesday, authorities discovered belongings with blood stains belonging to both individuals in a container in Cronulla. This led them to Baird’s sharehouse, which was found to have blood stains, 30km away in Paddington. Mourning individuals have left flower arrangements outside the couple’s Sydney residence, where police suspect the murders occurred.
