Authorities are seeking any details about a deadly accident on the M62 where a vehicle was traveling in the opposite direction.
At 2:06am on Saturday, West Yorkshire police were informed of a Vauxhall Corsa driving in the opposite direction on the westbound side of the motorway.
However, when the officers were sent to find the car, they discovered that it had crashed into a VW Golf near the Scammonden Bridge.
The man driving the Corsa was declared deceased on site, while the man operating the Golf sustained severe injuries and was taken to a hospital for additional medical care.
Officials shut down both sides of the road from exits 22 to 24 for a majority of Saturday morning.
The investigation by the major collision inquiry team is ongoing and they are requesting any witnesses to come forward.
