Each match, I felt like I was improving and in the end, I am thrilled to have come out as the tournament champion.”
Similar to Iga Swiatek, the winner of the women’s tournament, Alcaraz is making a unique mark in the history of the sport at a remarkably young age. At only 20 years old, he is only the second player to have won five Masters 1000 titles before turning 21, a feat previously accomplished only by Rafael Nadal. He has also earned a total of 13 tour titles. Alcaraz has surpassed his coach, Juan Carlos Ferrero, in terms of Masters 1000 victories and is now ranked second among Spanish players, behind Nadal’s record-breaking 36 titles.

In the beginning of the final match, Medvedev took the lead with a 3-0 advantage due to Alcaraz’s mistakes. However, Alcaraz steadily improved his performance during the intense and fast-paced exchanges in the set. Eventually, he narrowly won the first set tie-break and then played with confidence to achieve another impressive victory.
