Police disclosed that the individual responsible for the Clapham chemical assault was previously romantically involved with the victim who sustained injuries. Authorities also stated that the deterioration of the relationship may have been a potential motive for the attack that occurred last week.
Authorities have cautioned that the facial wounds sustained by Abdul Ezedi, aged 35, during the assault in south London may result in death if not properly treated.
Police were making arrangements to revisit the location where the assault took place on Wednesday evening, exactly one week after a 31-year-old woman and her two children, ages eight and three, were attacked with a corrosive substance.
Commander Jon Savell informed reporters that the search for Ezedi was a top priority investigation for attempted murder.
Regarding potential reasons, he stated: “They were previously in a romantic partnership that had deteriorated.”
The most recent verified appearance of Ezedi on surveillance footage was on Vauxhall Bridge Road in downtown London around 11pm on the evening of the assault on January 31.
