David Davis, a member of the Conservative party, recounted his experience of defending himself against an assault near Parliament. He had stepped in to assist a homeless person who was being physically assaulted.
Davis, a previous member of the cabinet and candidate for leadership, stated that he bravely positioned himself between the assailants and the homeless individual, avoiding two blows.
After forcefully removing the main attacker, he brought Gareth, the injured man, to his flat in Westminster and allowed him to spend the night on the couch.
The following day, he brought Gareth to St. Thomas’ Hospital due to continued bleeding.
Davis, accompanied by Guto Harri, a former advisor for communications at Downing Street, witnessed a violent altercation on Great Peter Street near Victoria. Two individuals were brutally attacking a third person, with one of them landing a powerful kick to the victim’s head, causing a dramatic spray of blood.
“I acted impulsively, without much thought. I quickly intervened and confronted the attackers with aggression. I intervened by standing between them and helping the other person up. One attacker backed off while the other was momentarily stunned by my aggressive approach. After regaining some composure, the second attacker tried to hit me twice but missed. This forced me to physically restrain him to prevent further harm.”
After leaving them, I brought this person back to my home to attempt to heal them. They were completely covered in blood, but we managed to clean them up. However, the following morning, they were still bleeding, so I called an Uber and took them to the emergency room.
The Evening Standard was the first to report on the incident that occurred on Tuesday.
Davis, a former SAS trainee and current member of parliament, stated that the attackers seemed to be extremely violent and dependent on the drug spice.
The lawmaker stated that he had previously intervened in conflicts due to a past incident where a man was fatally assaulted on a common in south London, close to his residence.
“After that, I have never been able to back down from a confrontation like this. My nose and teeth have been broken in the past, but this time I came out unscathed, so I am fine,” he stated.
