Beth Mead scores twice as Arsenal wins their sixth consecutive game in the WSL.

Beth Mead netted two goals as Arsenal dominantly defeated West Ham 3-0 at Meadow Park in the Women’s Super League.

Arsenal quickly took the lead with Frida Maanum scoring in just two minutes. Beth Mead, who had recently recovered from an injury, scored her first goal in the 18th minute. She then tapped in from six yards to make it 3-0 right before halftime.

Jonas Eidevall’s squad currently holds the second spot and is consistently putting pressure on the top team, Chelsea. Chelsea’s winning streak in the league reached six games with a 5-2 victory against Leicester.

Manchester United bounced back from their loss to Manchester City in the derby, securing a 2-0 victory against the last-place Bristol City with goals from Hinata Miyazawa and Nikita Parris in the second half.

During the first half, United had numerous attempts on goal but were thwarted by City’s exceptional goalie, Olivia Clark. Parris, Leah Galton, and Millie Turner were all denied by her. However, in the second half, Marc Skinner’s team finally scored with a goal from Japanese player Miyazawa. Parris then added a second goal, leading United to secure a victory on the road.

Liverpool secured their first victory in three league games with a dominant 4-0 triumph over Brighton. The team went into halftime with a 2-0 advantage, thanks to goals from Gemma Bonner and Shanice van de Sanden. In the second half, Ceri Holland scored from close range and Sophie Roman Haug added the finishing touch to a successful afternoon for the home team.

Shanice van De Sanden scores Liverpool’s second goal in the win over Brighton.

Dutch striker Van de Sanden, who was absent from the recent loss against Manchester United due to the birth of her daughter, scored her first goal of the season to mark her new role as a mother.

She expressed, “I am overwhelmed with joy. I am eagerly anticipating seeing my daughter once again and holding her in my embrace. Today, I am at the peak of happiness. This is our top performance of the season thus far, and we must maintain this momentum and shift our attention to the next one.”
