Novak Djokovic secured a place in the semi-finals of the ATP Finals after defeating Hubert Hurkacz in a three-set match with a score of 7-6 (1), 4-6, 6-1. However, his fate was not immediately determined as he had to wait for the outcome of Jannik Sinner’s match against Holger Rune. If Rune had won, he would have advanced ahead of Djokovic, the defending champion and world No 1. Unfortunately for Rune, Sinner proved to be too strong on his home turf in Turin, adding to his impressive victory over Djokovic earlier in the tournament.
