Actor Jamie Foxx has refuted allegations of sexual assault at a rooftop bar in New York City from eight years ago.
In the summer of 2015, it is claimed by the lawsuit that Foxx made remarks such as, “Impressive, you possess a supermodel physique,” while at Catch NYC & Roof, a dining establishment and elevated bar. He then allegedly grabbed the woman’s arm and led her to a secluded area at the back of the rooftop.
There are accusations of “harmful physical contact and sexual attack” being the cause of “extreme psychological suffering and anxiety” for the woman, leading to post-traumatic stress disorder.
According to the complaint submitted to the supreme court in New York, actor and Academy Award winner Eric Bishop, known professionally as Jamie Foxx, is accused of abusing his fame for personal gain.
The individual referred to as Jane Doe in legal documents is taking legal action against Catch NYC & Roof and Mark Birnbaum, the owner, claiming negligence and failure to exercise reasonable caution in preventing the actions described in the lawsuit.
According to a spokesperson for Foxx, the reported incident did not occur. In 2020, the same person filed a very similar lawsuit in Brooklyn, which was quickly dismissed. This statement was given to Deadline on Thursday.
The assertions are just as invalid now as they were at that time. We are certain that they will be rejected once more. And when they are, Mr. Foxx plans to seek damages for malicious prosecution against this individual and her lawyers for re-submitting this baseless lawsuit.
