For the first time, Fred Again, Lana Del Rey, and Gerry Cinnamon will be the headlining acts at Reading and Leeds.

The headlining acts for the 2024 Reading and Leeds festivals have been announced, featuring Fred Again, Lana Del Rey, and Gerry Cinnamon in their first-ever headline performances.

Fred Again’s latest booking marks his transition from a behind-the-scenes pop producer to a prominent figure in the dance music scene, solidifying his status as a mainstream name. This summer, he headlined Parklife festival and drew one of the largest crowds at Glastonbury 2023 with his performance on the Other stage. Alongside fellow artists Four Tet and Skrillex, he stepped in as a last-minute replacement for Frank Ocean to headline Coachella earlier this year. He has confirmed that his only appearances at UK festivals in 2024 will be at Reading and Leeds.

Despite a delayed start due to her lengthy hair routine, Lana Del Rey received high praise as a performer at this year’s Glastonbury festival. According to the five-star review from The Guardian, her set was both captivating and impressive, showcasing her talent as one of the top pop artists in the world. She is currently on tour for her album “Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd” and it has been nominated for album of the year at the 2024 Grammy awards in February.

Gerry Cinnamon is set to make his return to the Reading and Leeds festivals after a year away in 2021. In a statement, he expressed his excitement, saying, “Last time was an incredible experience. It was my first show after lockdown and it was filled with intense emotions. Now, as a headliner, we plan to take it to another level. I can’t wait to be back and see all of you there.” In the time since his last appearance, his status as a folk hero has only grown. He has become a huge success in his home country of Scotland, selling out two shows at Glasgow’s Hampden Park in 2022 and performing at numerous outdoor concerts elsewhere. This announcement has fans eagerly anticipating the possibility of a third studio album in 2022, following the success of his 2020 hit record, The Bonny.

Three new artists will be joining the lineup for Reading and Leeds, alongside three well-known performers: Liam Gallagher (performing Oasis’s album Definitely Maybe in its entirety), Catfish and the Bottlemen, who have previously headlined in 2021, and Blink-182, who have topped the bill in both 2010 and 2014. Additionally, Raye, Skrillex, Spiritbox, and Digga D have been announced to perform at lower slots on the bill.

The festival tickets, occurring from August 21 to August 25, will become available for purchase starting at 8:30am on Thursday, November 30.
