Attorneys representing Kazuyuki Minami, a plaintiff, and Masafumi Yoshida, a spokesperson, addressed the press following the ruling of Japan’s highest court on Wednesday. The court deemed a law mandating transgender individuals to undergo sterilization surgery before legally changing their gender as unconstitutional.
