A child is in a serious condition and three adults are in hospital after a shooting in north-east London.
All four suffered gunshot injuries during the incident near a restaurant in Hackney, police said.
Firearms officers and ambulance crew were among those who rushed to the scene at about 9.20pm on Wednesday. Hundreds of people were said to be out on the streets on what was a busy evening.
No arrests have yet been made, according to the Metropolitan police, who described the situation as “fast-moving”.
The deputy assistant commissioner Matt Ward said: “We know Londoners will be shocked by what has taken place tonight. Our thoughts go to all those affected. Fast-moving inquiries are under way and we will update as soon as we can. If anyone has any information, please contact us.”
Roads were closed on Thursday morning on either side of Dalston Kingsland after the incident while police tape remained around the scene.
A London ambulance service spokesperson said three adults and the child had been treated at the scene.
