Aryna Sabalenka showed immense strength and resilience when she came back to the tennis court and played with complete determination and concentration despite facing a difficult time in her personal life. She defeated her friend Paula Badosa 6-4, 6-3 to advance to the third round of the Miami Open on Friday. Just a few days before the match, Sabalenka’s ex-boyfriend Konstantin Koltsov unexpectedly passed away at the age of 42 in Miami, in what the police have described as a suspected suicide. Despite this tragedy, Sabalenka chose to stay in the tournament and even returned to practice on Tuesday before her match against Badosa. After the game, Badosa commented, “She is a very strong and determined individual. I know her personally and this does not come as a surprise to me.”
