According to reports, the London Clinic is being investigated for an alleged attempt by employees to access the private medical records of the Princess of Wales during her stay at the facility.
According to the Mirror, in January, at least one staff member attempted to view Kate’s records while she was a patient at the private hospital located in central London.
According to a source, top executives at the hospital immediately reached out to Kensington Palace upon learning of the incident and promised a thorough investigation.
The privacy and data protection agency in the UK announced that they have been notified of a breach.
On Tuesday, a spokesperson from the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) stated: “We have received a report of a breach and are currently examining the information provided.”
According to Kensington Palace, the issue will be handled by the London Clinic.
The London Clinic stated to the Mirror that they strongly believe in protecting the privacy and confidentiality of all patients, regardless of their status.
The Metropolitan police stated that they were unable to verify if they were previously notified of the accusations.
The princess’s state and medical procedure specifics have not been revealed. Kensington Palace stated that the issue was not related to cancer and the princess desires for her personal medical details to be kept confidential.
The Prince and Princess of Wales are currently under investigation after a challenging period, which was triggered by the release of a family photo on Mother’s Day. The photo was pulled from circulation by photo agencies due to concerns about image alteration.
This was the initial official photograph of the princess following her surgery.
The princess eventually released a public statement expressing regret and taking responsibility for altering the image digitally.
The Sun released pictures and a video on Tuesday of Kate and Prince William shopping at the Windsor Farm Shop near their residence in Windsor over the weekend.
Even though Kensington Palace announced that the princess would not resume her royal responsibilities until after Easter, the Times claimed that arrangements were being made for her to have a “gentle comeback” by attending Easter Sunday service at St George’s Chapel in Windsor.
