On Saturday, the Razzie voters targeted a horror movie featuring Winnie-the-Pooh, a popular character from children’s literature, in their annual spoof of the Oscars which calls attention to supposed poor performances in Hollywood.

Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey swept the five categories it was nominated for in the 44th Razzies, which included picture, director, screenplay, screen couple and remake/rip-off/sequel.

According to Dennis Harvey from Variety, The Jagged Edge Productions movie was deemed “a bottom-of-the-barrel piece that disappoints in meeting even the most minimal standards set by its gimmick” on Rotten Tomatoes, where the film has been labeled as “rotten”.

The Razzie Redeemer Award, given to a previous nominee who has achieved success after being nominated for a Razzie, was presented to Fran Drescher, known for her role in The Nanny, for her role as Sag-Aftra president during the 2023 actors’ strike.

In 1998, Drescher received a nomination for her performance as the worst actress in the romantic comedy movie The Beautician and the Beast.

Hosts Aaron Goldenberg and Jake Jonez, known for their TikTok personas, The Mean Gays, said she had led Hollywood actors through an “unprecedented labour action to an even more unprecedented deal with the AMPTP”, the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers.

Jon Voight, who played a role in Mercy, was also awarded the Razzie for his portrayal as an actor. This was due to his use of an Irish accent resembling the “Lucky Charms leprechaun.”

Megan Fox received two awards: a Razzie for her performance in the role of Johnny & Clyde and a supporting actress award for the action movie Expend4bles.

Sylvester Stallone was awarded the Razzie, which is also known as the Golden Raspberry, for his supporting role in Expend4bles.

According to the website of the Razzie organization, over 1,100 members from various parts of the US and approximately 24 other nations participate in voting for the awards.
