In 1981, roller skating dancers performed at a street festival held at the Third Ave Hub in the Bronx.
During his teenage years, Conzo was immersed in the dynamic cultural and activist movements that were transforming the Bronx. Conzo’s father had a close relationship with Tito Puente and organized large salsa events during that era. His grandmother, Evelina López Antonetty, was a well-known community activist, affectionately known as the “Hell Lady of the Bronx.” Conzo attended South Bronx High School, where he was surrounded by peers who were pioneers of the emerging hip-hop culture.
