Jonathan Morgan was fired from his position as manager of Sheffield United Women’s team due to his actions prior to joining Bramall Lane.

The management company, TTM (Tongue Tied Management), stated that they have ended their contract with Morgan due to a player who was under his supervision.

Morgan returned to his responsibilities at Sheffield United last month following an inquiry into his behavior prior to the passing of player Maddy Cusack, which revealed no indication of misconduct.

27-year-old Cusack, who had 110 appearances for the club and held a position as a marketing executive, passed away in September. Authorities confirmed that her death is not being treated as suspicious.

Morgan, who previously served as manager for Leicester and Burnley, had taken a leave of absence from his position in October due to a formal complaint filed by Cusack’s family. This led to the club announcing an independent investigation.

The investigation, which ended on December 18th, found no proof of wrongdoing. On January 25th, the Football Association stated that they would launch an official investigation into the events leading up to Cusack’s death.

The club, Sheffield United, has announced that Morgan has left the team due to recently discovered information about his behavior prior to joining Bramall Lane. Based on this information, the club has decided that Morgan’s employment is no longer sustainable and he has been dismissed from the club.

Luke Turner has accepted the position of temporary head coach for the foreseeable future, which includes this Sunday’s Women’s Championship game against Durham Women.

TTM announced that within the past 24 hours, they have acquired new knowledge about Jonathan Morgan’s involvement with a player he was responsible for. As a result, they have decided to end their collaboration with him immediately. This decision is crucial in maintaining the credibility of our company.

I am certain that all athletes, regardless of their gender, should adhere to safeguarding standards and processes. At Tongue Tied Management, we strive to uphold an atmosphere of respect, honesty, reliability, and responsibility in the world of sports.
