Some dishonest individuals are profiting from Jürgen Klopp’s departure from Liverpool. Tickets for his last game at Anfield are being sold for £12,000 on one resale website (located right behind the dugout), while a seat on the Kop is priced at £4,250. These tickets will likely be purchased and potentially even sold for a higher price closer to the date, especially if it includes the presentation of the Premier League trophy to a beloved departing figure during the Wolves game on May 19th.

On Friday, Klopp was questioned about whether he had thought about the ideal conclusion to the Premier League. He responded, “I am not one to daydream.” After narrowly missing out on two previous title races with Manchester City and with 16 games left to play, it’s wise not to get ahead of oneself.

However, despite the practicality of being 56 years old and Manchester City’s tendency to perform well during this time of year, the hopes and aspirations of those surrounding Liverpool’s manager will not be dampened. His team has shown great resilience in response to the surprising news of his upcoming departure, scoring nine goals in two matches. Both Norwich and Chelsea were no match for a team that, according to Klopp, has made progress in their growth since their goalless draw against Manchester United before Christmas.

Liverpool easily defeated a struggling Chelsea team without two key players, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah, who were either on the bench or receiving treatment. This shows how strong Klopp’s revamped squad is, as even Alexander-Arnold’s position as the undisputed right-back is now being challenged by newcomer Conor Bradley. If Liverpool can secure another win against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, they will not only increase their lead over Arsenal and the current champions, but also fuel speculation about their chances of winning the title. On paper, Arsenal appears to be the most challenging away match remaining for Liverpool.

Klopp inquired, “If I had not made the announcement I did a week ago, what would be the difference?” One noticeable change would be the ticket prices for the Wolves. He stated, “It’s like, ‘Wouldn’t it be great to win another Premier League, wouldn’t it be wonderful to achieve that, wouldn’t it be nice to do that after all the hard work we’ve put in over the years and how close we came?’ It’s all the same. The only slight difference is now they say, ‘For Jürgen.’ That’s the only thing. Nothing else has changed and that is my current mood.”

I definitely want to win the league, but I’m not sure if we have a realistic chance. It seems like we could be in the running, but there are still many games to play before then. We have to focus on each game and make sure we win them all, which is quite challenging. Personally, I try not to dwell on it too much. I’m not one to daydream. However, winning the league would be an incredible feeling for everyone involved with Liverpool. But, I don’t find it difficult to block out that thought because it’s no different from previous years. If it can give us a little extra motivation, that would be great, but I believe we are already giving 100% and that’s all that matters.

City’s pedigree leaves Liverpool with little margin for error even at this stage of a title race. Klopp’s team finished 18 points clear of their closest rivals when ending a 30-year wait to be crowned champions of England in 2020. Better to lead than to chase is the opinion of a manager who was unable to celebrate that long-awaited triumph with his own supporters owing to the pandemic. The opportunity to party together at the end of his final season increases the importance of Liverpool’s chase.

Klopp expressed concern about Darwin Núñez’s injury status and stated that his team has only been ahead of their opponents once, resulting in a 25 point victory before the Covid pandemic disrupted the league. He also mentioned Rio Ferdinand’s opinion on nullifying the league, which he recently discussed in an interview.

“The most effective approach would be to be inaccessible, but that is not realistically feasible. In previous battles, when we were slightly trailing, we ended up losing the race. For five or six weeks, there was only one point separating us and it remained that way because we both won all of our games. It’s not a fair comparison. Ultimately, what matters is that to win the Premier League, a team must win a significant number of football matches.”

Klopp is confident that his team will surpass their previous performance at Arsenal four weeks ago, where they won 2-0 in the FA Cup due to the home team’s wastefulness. He is asking for more possession and better control over their opponents. “We are continuously improving as a team,” he stated. “And there is still plenty of room for growth.”

He stated, “We are currently at the top of the table in the best league in the world. This proves that we have no weak players on our team. However, it’s not the time to focus on their past performances or their attractive appearance. We need to dig deep and stay determined as we continue through the season. Our foundation is strong and there is still room for improvement. Let’s make sure we are well-positioned for the final stretch and then we can evaluate our progress.”
