The highly-anticipated Amy Winehouse biopic, Back to Black, has released its full trailer after a brief teaser trailer was unveiled in January.

Marisa Abela takes on the role of Winehouse in the film Back to Black, which is directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson and written by Matt Greenhalgh. The cast also includes Jack O’Connell as Winehouse’s boyfriend Blake Fielder-Civil and Eddie Marsan as her father Mitch.

In 2011, Winehouse passed away at her residence in Camden, London. In 2015, a documentary about her career was directed by Asif Kapadia. In 2018, the Winehouse family entered into an agreement with producers Monumental to create a film, which was filmed and finalized in 2023.

Anne-Marie Speed, a performance coach, recently discussed the pressure on Abela as she played the role of Winehouse. Speed stated, “It requires constant preparation, similar to that of an athlete, and people often overlook the physical demands of using one’s voice.”
