Jürgen Klopp is once again collaborating with the German neuroscience company neuro11 in order to prepare for the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea. He is exploring various strategies to ensure victory.
Klopp initially invited neuro11, a company specializing in precision training for penalties, free-kicks, and other set pieces, to join Liverpool’s pre-season training camp before the 2021-22 season. This decision came after his team narrowly missed out on winning the quadruple. He praised the company’s founders, Dr. Niklas Hausler and Patrick Hantschke, for their crucial contributions to Liverpool’s victory in the Carabao Cup that season, where all 11 penalties were successfully converted in their shootout against Chelsea.
Once again this season, the two teams will face each other in the final on February 25th. Just like in 2022, Klopp has requested neuro11 to mentally prepare Liverpool’s players for the possibility of a penalty shootout.
The manager stated that the individuals are employed by our company and were present last week due to the possibility of a penalty shootout with Fulham. We have plans to take action before the final and they will be present during that week.
Liverpool is still chasing after four different titles this year. They will be facing Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final and also have a home game against Norwich in the FA Cup, which draws comparisons to their performance in the 2021-22 season. Two years ago, Liverpool beat Norwich 2-1 in the fifth round at Anfield. This Sunday, Andy Robertson may make his comeback after dislocating his shoulder, and Dominik Szoboszlai is expected to play after recovering from a hamstring injury.
When questioned about whether the previous experience of chasing four titles could be helpful in the current situation, Klopp responded by saying that he had not considered it. He explained that his team is currently only qualified for one final and it would be futile to think about future ones without first playing in the initial one.
The purpose of the competitions is not to have one winner for all of them. This is due to the large number of games. I realized that if we win on Sunday, the [Carabao Cup] final will take place on Sunday the 25th and then three days later will be the next round of the FA Cup.
