Authorities have identified the victims of the homicide that occurred on Friday in a residence close to Norwich as a man, woman, and two young girls.
The man involved in the incident has been identified as Bartłomiej Kuczyński, aged 45, and the woman as Kanticha Sukpengpanao, aged 36. The two girls involved are believed to be Kucyzński’s daughters, and have been named as Jasmin Kuczyńska, aged 12, and Natasha Kuczyńska, aged nine.
According to a statement from the force, formal identification has not yet occurred.
Autopsies conducted on Sunday revealed that Sukpengpanao passed away due to a series of stabs to the neck, while Kuczyński succumbed to a lone stab wound to the neck. The two girls’ autopsies are scheduled for Wednesday.
Investigators have stated that they are not searching for any additional individuals involved in the occurrence.
The Norfolk police have stated that they have referred themselves to the police watchdog on Saturday, as they had previously interacted with the household.
On 14 December last year officers had been involved in a missing persons inquiry at the house in Costessey, a north-west suburb of Norwich.
On Friday, the police did not answer a 6am emergency call from the residence. However, an hour later they did respond to a call from a concerned citizen regarding the well-being of the individuals inside the house.
At 7:15am, when the officers entered by using force, they discovered four deceased individuals.
The Independent Office for Police Conduct has initiated an inquiry into Norfolk constabulary regarding their interaction with Kuczyński.
Charmaine Arbouin, the regional director of the watchdog, stated that after receiving a required referral from the force, they have chosen to conduct an investigation. They will be assessing whether the force’s actions during their interaction with the individual were proper and aligned with their policies, training, and procedures.
We will reach out to the families of the deceased to clarify our involvement. We extend our condolences to the families and friends of the deceased and anyone impacted by this event.
