On Saturday, a significant event was announced due to a substantial fire that erupted in a structure located in the central area of Liverpool.
The fire department reported that nearby buildings were cleared out due to the risk of the structure collapsing.
At around 2:20pm on Saturday, firefighters were summoned to a fire on Fox Street. Upon arrival, they discovered a four-story building fully engulfed in flames.
At 5pm, the situation was no longer considered a significant event and the majority of the fire had been put out.
The Merseyside fire and rescue service reported that effective firefighting methods have significantly decreased the size of the fire.
Customers observed smoke clouds expanding throughout the downtown area and the plumes were visible above Goodison Park while Everton played against Luton Town in the FA Cup.
The fire department advised individuals to stay away from the vicinity and for those living and working nearby to keep their windows and doors closed.
Earlier, the Merseyside fire and rescue team declared a large event and separated the fire into four sections.
