Efruz, a young boy wearing a yellow vest, stands confidently at the front of a surfboard while his friend and him ride over the waves of the Pacific Ocean in Peru.
Efruz, a Jack Russell terrier, is frequently seen during the hot summer days in the southern hemisphere at the age of four.
Mauro Canella, a surfing instructor at San Bartolo beach, located 30 miles (48.3km) away from downtown Lima, states that his owner has a strong affinity for the ocean.
According to Canella, they started surfing together approximately one year ago. However, they are not the sole pair of dog and human who surf the waves in San Bartolo. On weekends, it is common to see a dozen or more of these duos.
Efruz seems to be enjoying his new sport of standing, kneeling, or lying flat on his board while Canella crosses the waves. However, as time passes, he begins to feel the cold.
Like all surfers, dog and owner may sometimes get knocked into the water if they don’t successfully navigate a wave.
