Christian Oliver, an actor from Germany who had a 30-year career and appeared in movies with Tom Cruise and George Clooney, tragically passed away in a plane crash on Thursday along with his two daughters near a Caribbean island.

Authorities reported that Oliver, previously known as Christian Klepser, and his daughters were on a single-engine plane departing from a Bequia airport in the nation of St Vincent and the Grenadines at around 12:10pm local time.

Authorities from the Royal St Vincent and Grenadines police department reported that the aircraft, en route to St Lucia, experienced unknown challenges shortly after takeoff and subsequently crashed into the ocean.

Fishermen, scuba divers, and members of the country’s coast guard arrived at the location of the accident, and the military personnel successfully retrieved the remains of the four individuals who were on the aircraft.

Oliver, aged 51, along with his daughters Annik, aged 10, and Madita Klepser, aged 12, as well as the pilot and owner of the plane, Robert Sachs, were declared deceased at the location by medical professionals, according to authorities. The coast guard transported the bodies of Oliver, his daughters, and Sachs (a resident of Bequia) to a nearby mortuary by boat. Autopsies are currently being conducted to determine the specific causes of death, with results expected on Friday.
